LOMA and La Escuela de Seguros de Chile Partner to Increase Knowledge of Insurance Operations in Latin American Market

Atlanta, Georgia, United StatesMarch 16, 2005—LOMA and La Escuela de Seguros de Chile have signed a memorandum of understanding establishing a collaborative relationship to increase educational opportunities in Chileand within the Latin American market at large.

 

“Our challenge is to become the educational institution that will be recognized for its excellence and prestige in the Chilean and Latin American marketplace,” says Leonardo Jiménez – Director of La Escuela de Seguros de Chile.

 

La Escuela de Seguros deChile is a trusted partner of insurance companies in Chileand highly recognized for its excellence and prestige in the Chilean and Latin American marketplace. Many companies rely on La Escuela as a viable resource needed to provide their employees with adequate insurance industry training and knowledge needed for success.

 

“By partnering withLOMA , we have built professional degree tracks that will enable La Escuela de Seguros deChile to offer joint designations that will be recognized by the international insurance industry, as well as here in Chile,” says Leonardo Jiménez.LOMA courses will be incorporated into the degree programs offered by La Escuela de Seguros so that graduates of the program will receive joint designations upon completion of all coursework.

 

La Escuela de Seguros will also offer their educational services to anyone outside of the insurance industry looking to enter into the field with hopes of broadening the industry talent pool. 

 

LOMA has dedicated itself to the global marketplace, includingLatin America . “One of LOMA’s primary missions is to enhance business talent and provide opportunities for professionalism within the global financial services sector,” says Joel Basarich, LOMA’s managing director. “Our collaboration with La Escuela de Seguros provides LOMA’s commitment to this goal with yet another opportunity to make an impact and bring additional expertise to this growing market.” This new partnership is now official this month, March of 2005.

About La Escuela
Institution of Superior Education was founded in 1979 with the support of the Insurance Associations from Chile. The institution’s main purpose is to prepare technical professionals of insurance who can participate in the different areas of operations inside the industry. La Escuela de Seguros de Chileis aLOMA member and gathers 47 of the 51 insurance companies registered in the market.More than 20,000 professionals have gone through the foundation who are now involved in the insurance industry.
