LOMA Teams With LRN to Offer Ethics and Compliance Education for Financial Services Industry
ATLANTA, GEORGIA—May 26, 2006—LOMA, the leading trade association through which more than 1,200 international insurance and financial services companies engage in research and educational activities to improve company operations, has formed an alliance with
LRN, a premier provider of legal, compliance, ethics management and corporate governance solutions. Under the terms of this new arrangement, LOMA will offer online courses from LRN to LOMA’s member community through LOMALearn Online, LOMA’s growing e-Learning portal designed for both individual and corporate learning management.
“Our alliance with LRN enables us to significantly increase our course offerings and provides our members with a greatly enhanced training solution,” stated Dennis Goodwin, FLMI, second vice president, e-Learning at LOMA. “Adding LRN courses to our catalog allows us to positively impact our members’ ability to train their employees to identify legal and ethical risks, avoid costly mistakes, and reinforce their understanding of both company values and about the importance of conducting business with integrity and in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.”
LOMALearn Online offers award-winning content in a flexible online learning format designed to meet individual learning goals and organizational performance needs. Organizations use LOMALearn Online to deliver employee training on financial/insurance products, compliance, customer service, management and interpersonal skills. The initial offerings now available to LOMA members from LRN’s library include courses on antitrust, Sarbanes-Oxley, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, the USA Patriot Act, intellectual property, anti-money laundering and preventing workplace harassment.
“Being a good corporate citizen requires that you not only foster your own ethical environment, it requires a commitment to extend ethical principles and practices to those organizations you do business with,” said Jim Blackie, vice president of sales at LRN. “This partnership signifies the impact that LOMA and its member companies can have on their industry by doing business according to the highest legal and ethical standards.”
The LOMALearn course library features over 180 courses developed by the industry’s leading educators, including LOMA’s own award-winning financial services courses. To experience the new LOMALearn Online and access its complete catalog of courses, visit
