LOMA Introduces New Reinsurance Course

Atlanta , Georgia —November 21, 2005—LOMA proudly announces the release of a new textbook including a high-tech learning aid for course ARA 440—Reinsurance Administration.  The new textbook, Principles of Reinsurance, provides a clear, concise discussion of the forms, regulation, operations, and financial aspects of reinsurance. In addition, the Test Preparation Guide (TPG) for ARA 440 will be available exclusively online via LOMALearn Online, LOMA’s e-Learning site for students and corporate administrators. Students will receive access to the online TPG automatically when they enroll for the ARA 440 examination. The cost of the online TPG for ARA 440 is included in the examination fee.

ARA 440—Reinsurance Administration is a required course in LOMA’s 6-course Associate, Reinsurance Administration (ARA) program, which provides students with a better understanding of reinsurance principles, the importance of the treaty in reinsurance, the development, administration and auditing of reinsurance products, and the importance of reinsurance to the insurance industry.

The new Principles of Reinsurance text educates students on how reinsurance strengthens the insurance industry and increases the likelihood that insurance companies will have sufficient funds to pay anticipated claims. The new text also discusses reinsurance principles, typical provisions in a reinsurance treaty and the importance of quality control in reinsurance administration.
