Publications Win APEX Awards
ATLANTA, Georgia—July 18, 2006—LOMA,
the leading trade association to the international insurance and financial
services industry and worldwide leader in learning and professional
development, proudly announces they have won three awards in the
eighteenth annual Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX) competition.
LOMA's Principles of Insurance: Life,
Health, and Annuities won the Award of Excellence in the Books & Book
Chapters category and the LOMA 280 Instructor's Kit won the Award of
Excellence in the PowerPoint Presentations category. Principles of
Reinsurance, won the Award of Excellence in the Education, Training &
Public Information Writing category.
"These awards honor not only LOMA
staff members who author, edit, layout, and design these
publications," stated Katherine C. Milligan, FLMI, ACS, ALHC, vice
president, Education and Training, LOMA. "But they also recognize the
contributions of numerous industry experts who volunteer their time and
knowledge to help produce the high caliber of course materials that LOMA
is consistently recognized for."
APEX awards are based on their overall
achievement of communication excellence, including the effectiveness of
graphics and the persuasiveness of the editorial content. With close to
5,000 entries this year, competition was intense.
