Created by the demand of LOMA members and other industry leaders, this promises to be one of the year's most interesting workshops. Discuss the functions and features of annuity systems. Share your views -- and hear ideas from your peers -- at this workshop. 

How do you use annuity systems? What systems are you using? What are the features of your systems? By networking and sharing ideas on these important topics, you can improve the way your business is run.

10:30-11:45 a.m. Session I – Annuities on Web sites: The Latest on What Companies Are Doing
Many companies have found success in the e-insurance market. Find out what companies are doing to sell annuities on the Web. What are your company’s initiatives? What concerns do you have about Web selling? What are the obstacles?

Noon- 1:30 p.m. Lunch

1:30-2:45 p.m. Session II – 24/7 Availability of Legacy Systems and Contact Centers
Expectations for customer service are higher than ever, given the advancements in technology. Share your thoughts on the service and support issues involved in 24/7 legacy systems and contact centers. How does your company handle this? What technical obstacles did you face? What are your future plans?

2:45-3:15 p.m. Networking Break

3:15-4:30 p.m. Session III – Improving Time to Market for Annuity Products
To compete in this new market place, new products are continually being developed. Complex financial structures warrant technology tools and maybe long lead times. How does your company shorten these times to get the product to the market sooner? How do companies streamline the product development processes? How does technology streamline the process? Which functions are being eliminated?

At the end of the annuity cycle, funds must be paid out. What systems features and functions are needed to streamline and automate these payouts? How does the system maintain funds accumulation, flexible payment schedules, and accurate payout amounts? Which features of the payout systems are most effective?

10:15-11:30 a.m. Session V – Pros and Cons of Outsourcing Technical Portions of Projects
Share advantages and disadvantages of outsourcing technical portions such as actuarial or investment. Is this the most cost effective way of handling it? What is the best way to evaluate whether to outsource? What technical issues come into play?

11:30 a.m.-Noon Session VI: Potpourri
Discuss any other issues important to you that we have not yet touched on.
